Buenísimo。 Lo leí porque me gusto la película y siguiendo el precepto de que los libros son mejores que sus películas compré el libro。 Una súper inversión。 Los personajes， la historia， el contexto， los lugares… todo de 10。No he leído más de Isabel Allende pero este libro me encantó。

Hay muchas cosas que se pueden decir de este libro。 Debo admitir que vi la película antes de leerlo porque cuando la vi no sabía que estaba basada en un libro， pero aún así， después de leerlo， me parece una adaptación increíble， bastante impecable y atrapante como la obra originalpor no hablar del cast que la compone。De igual manera， esta obra que leí a raíz de la película， me hizo admirar la valentía de Allende para escribir sin precedentes， sin importar lo que puedan pensar los lectores y crít Hay muchas cosas que se pueden decir de este libro。 Debo admitir que vi la película antes de leerlo porque cuando la vi no sabía que estaba basada en un libro， pero aún así， después de leerlo， me parece una adaptación increíble， bastante impecable y atrapante como la obra originalpor no hablar del cast que la compone。De igual manera， esta obra que leí a raíz de la película， me hizo admirar la valentía de Allende para escribir sin precedentes， sin importar lo que puedan pensar los lectores y críticos sobre ella。 Es interesante evidenciar como los personajes machistas como Esteban Trueba， se ven contrarrestados con los pensamientos liberales de las mujeres protagonistas， siendo claramente INDOMABLES por el hombre y manifestando claramente el pensamiento feminista de Isabel。 Pero es que no sólo esto ocurre al aventurarse en la lectura， sino que se pueden ver los tintes de sus creencias， de la infancia y es por ello que cualquier libro que leamos intentará sacar a flote algún carácter autobiográfico del escritor， como pasa en este caso con un reflejo de la dictadura de Pinochet y la muerte de su tío: Salvador Allende。 Por lo anterior， este libro que desde su título parece algo fantasioso y salido de lo común， resulta siendo un espejo de la sociedad en la que creció Allende。 Simplemente oro lo que creó esta mujer。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 Este libro lo estuve leyendo por casi 5 meses， tuve un increíble bloqueo lector y una frustración de querer terminar pronto。Tal vez sea mi edad a la que no le importe mucho los temas que trata el libro， no lo sé pero me aburrí demasiado con este libro。Isabel Allende plasmó la historia de la familia Trueba durante casi un siglo， dónde a dicha familia tiene que pasar por situaciones adversas。Este libro contiene hechos que se comenzaron a ver el siglo pasado， como lo es el aborto， el adulterio， el Este libro lo estuve leyendo por casi 5 meses， tuve un increíble bloqueo lector y una frustración de querer terminar pronto。Tal vez sea mi edad a la que no le importe mucho los temas que trata el libro， no lo sé pero me aburrí demasiado con este libro。Isabel Allende plasmó la historia de la familia Trueba durante casi un siglo， dónde a dicha familia tiene que pasar por situaciones adversas。Este libro contiene hechos que se comenzaron a ver el siglo pasado， como lo es el aborto， el adulterio， el capitalismo， el socialismo y los estereotipos。Encadenado a esto último viene uno de los dos protagonistas， Esteban Trueba， este hombre es soberbio， obstinado y machista。 Cree mucho en los estereotipos， se deja llevar por su ira y no piensa lo hace ni lo que dice， él hace demasiadas cosas malas y piensa que eso es normal， que tiene el derecho y que se puede arreglar fácilmente con dinero y que solo al final de la historia， se da cuenta de todos los errores que cometió y se arrepiente de ellos。Ahora vamos con Clara， Clara Clarividente， ella se nos presenta como una muchacha bella， un poco rara pero con magia， ella podía mover cosas con su mente y， utilizando la mesa de tres patas hablaba con los espíritus del más haya， tal era su magia que predijo que se casaría con Trueba， un hombre que le llevaba muchos años。 Clara en ocasiones era un poco fastidiosa， porque no hacía otra cosa que escribir en sus libretas de anotar la vida， comunicarse con los espíritus y quedarse muda voluntariamente por años， conforme fue envejeciendo tuvo oportunidad de actuar como una mujer normal， pero esto sucedió， al menos， tres veces en el libro。Me hubiera gustado leer protagonistas más interesantes y no unos que odie o que me fastidien， pero quiero recalcar que Isabel Allende supo cómo ordenar tantas ideas y sucesos a la perfección， el libro es estructurado en ese sentido y por eso le doy una calificación de tres estrellas。OJO: No porque a mí no me haya gustado el libro quiere decir que es malo 😃。 。。。more

Esteve quase a levar as cinco estrelas， mas algumas coisas que me incomodaram impedem-me de as atribuir:1） a linguagem utilizada em referência a pessoas nativas da América é desumanizante， apesar de não estar claro se o problema aqui vem de Allende ou do tradutor （e não me deu a sensação de ser propositada para retratar o racismo/xenofobia das personagens que narravam esses momentos， mas completamente acidental， como é frequente quando autores que não pertencem a um grupo social tentam retratá-l Esteve quase a levar as cinco estrelas， mas algumas coisas que me incomodaram impedem-me de as atribuir:1） a linguagem utilizada em referência a pessoas nativas da América é desumanizante， apesar de não estar claro se o problema aqui vem de Allende ou do tradutor （e não me deu a sensação de ser propositada para retratar o racismo/xenofobia das personagens que narravam esses momentos， mas completamente acidental， como é frequente quando autores que não pertencem a um grupo social tentam retratá-lo）;2） sentimentos agridoces em relação ao feminismo presente neste livro， pois parece-me inconsistente em vários momentos， inclusive na presença óbvia de dois pesos e duas medidas no que toca a abordar sexualidade， conforme esta é normativa ou não。Apesar disto， a satisfação política que tirei desta história é enorme， e o realismo mágico é delicioso， e acho que gostei ainda mais dele aqui do que quando li a trilogia da Cidade dos Deuses Selvagens quando era mais nova。Mesmo com momentos de brutalidade difíceis de ler， a habilidade com que a autora 1） mostra como é que o fascismo chega ao poder e 2） quebra a ilusão de que só um monstro pode fazer coisas horríveis é incrível， e decerto deixará algumas pessoas a pensar que categorizar ditadores ou potenciais com rótulos de "outros"， "maléficos"， "monstros" e outros que nos distanciem deles são também uma forma de negligência perante um problema real de fascismo iminente， pois não queremos admitir que as atrocidades são cometidas por pessoas normais e pessoas que fecham os olhos à injustiça que acontece debaixo dos seus narizes。Termino esta curta review com a minha frase preferida do livro:"Então， eu soube que o Coronel Garcia， e outros como ele， têm os seus dias contados porque não conseguiram destruir o espírito dessas mulheres。" 。。。more

This was an ok read but had enough things that I dislike to discourage me from pursuing other books by this author。 It was not plot driven， and instead read like the summary of your ancestors’ lives， there was very little dialogue and while I don’t hate this way of storytelling it is also not something I am drawn to。 There was also an excessive amount of rape and unsavory behavior， and while not explicitly detailed， it was just too much for me and very disconcerting to read about。 It did have a This was an ok read but had enough things that I dislike to discourage me from pursuing other books by this author。 It was not plot driven， and instead read like the summary of your ancestors’ lives， there was very little dialogue and while I don’t hate this way of storytelling it is also not something I am drawn to。 There was also an excessive amount of rape and unsavory behavior， and while not explicitly detailed， it was just too much for me and very disconcerting to read about。 It did have a satisfactory conclusion but overall it was just a depressing read with a few life lessons sprinkled in。 It was also very hard to figure out the time and place everything took place and to track the passage of time which was mildly frustrating。 I can see why people love this book and author and can appreciate it but all in all， it wasn’t for me。 。。。more

This book evolved from a letter she wrote to her grandfather when he was dying at age 99。 Because the book culminates with the military takeover， I found the last third of the book much more compelling， and would in the end give it a thumbs up for a very unique and clever perspective on 20th century Chilean cultural and political history。
